In the Name of God, the Subtle, the Loving

Kudos to the Chicago Sun-Times for printing on their front page the title: “Homegrown Terror” in relation to the Christian militia group that was raided recently.

According to the authorities, the militia group “plotted to kill a cop, then bomb the officer’s funeral, federal prosecutors charged.” Once again, many people failed to call them what they really are: domestic terrorists. But, the Chicago Sun-Times did just that, and they should be commended.

As Glenn Greenwald recently wrote, when the word “terrorist” is only used for Muslims, then it is a completely meaningless word. Only a handful of people called the man who flew a plane into the IRS building a terrorist.

I mean, come on people!

But, good on the Chicago Sun Times for calling these militants what they are, if what is alleged against them is true: terrorists. No matter what religion you are, if you plan to kill cops and then bomb the funeral: that is an act of terrorism.
